Type Rating Ground Course: AW139 Helicopter

We have finished the two-week Type Rating Ground Course AW139 Helicoper for pilots with my consecutive interpreting. It was an incredibly hard but very exciting project! I have looked through an enormous amount of materials, compiled glossaries and learned hundreds of technical terms. Now I can add jet another specialization into my CV – an aviation interpreter. I love helicopters!

VI National Aviation Infrastructure Show (NAIS2019)

It has been already the second year in a row that I am part of the team providing simultaneous interpreting at one of the main aviation industry events of the year – National Aviation Infrastructure Show (NAIS). This year I interpreted at the main session that brought together representatives of aviation authorities of Russia and other European countries. The agenda covered the best international and domestic practices in aviation transportation and infrastructure management and aviation security issues. The conference was opened by handing in awards to the laureates of industrial awards Air Gates of Russia and Skyway Service Award.

International Interpreters Forum Global Dialogue

On 21-26 I took part in the International Interpreters Forum Global Dialogue held at the Moscow State Linguistic University (MSLU): on 21-24 January – in the master-classes and on 25-26 – in the Forum. Here I learned a lot of useful and relevant things for an interpreter: how to work with your voice, how to fight with stress, how to overcome the stage freight, how to market your services, how much you should ask for them and how to establish good relations with translation agencies and colleagues. Many sessions were held in parallel and it was very difficult to chose because I wanted to be everywhere!

At the Forum I had a chance to meet and speak to many colleagues and make new aquaintances. It is great that the interpreting world is now enriched by a new platform where interpreters can discuss pressing issues and learn from each other. As they said at the Forum, we usually interpret other people, but we also have our own thoughts to share!

I would like to thank the organizers and all the colleagues from MSLU. I believe everyone noted that this year the Forum was larger and better organized. Now we will be looking forward to the next Global dialogue 2020!

ROOGD-2018

On 27-28 November Gazprom VNIIGAZ held VII International Conference “Russian Offshore Oil and Gas Development: Arctic and Far East” (ROOGD-2018) . On the first day I interpreted simultaneously the plenary session and on the second – the session on offshore field development. On the photo you can see our dream team of interpreters who worked at this conference. I would like to thank all my colleagues for the great job and hope to see you at other locations soon!
