National Aviation Infrastructure Show (NAIS)
Traditionally, the 3rd time in a row, we are starting the season from the National Aviaiton Infrastructure Show (NAIS).
After the session ended our colleague – the interpreter from ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organization) – came up to say hello. We learned that this organization, which is mentioned all the time here, belongs to the UN system and has its own interpretation service with 5 booths (official languages – English, Russian, French, Spanish, Arabian and Chinese) 😀
III Global Dialogue International Forum of Conference Interpreters
At the III Global Dialogue International Forum of Conference Interpreters I presented on my experience as a remote simultaneous interpreter. The topic of RSI (remote simultaneous interpreting) on the whole is becoming increasingly popular: they said on the session on interpreter’s scoring that RSI platforms are expected to grow exponentially. My presentation was about advantages and disadvantages of remote interpreting; I described the working place of a remote interpreter, the challenges the interpreter can face and how to deal with them.
